COVID-19 Safety:

In accordance with current LA County guidelines for outdoor events, current Covid-19 protocols in place, including, but not limited to:
•We are screening attendees
•We have hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue
•Masks will be provided to those who need, but do not have with them
•Prominent signage will be at the entrance and throughout the venue in regards to COVID best practices, guidelines, and social distancing
•The bathrooms and high touch surfaces are being sanitized throughout the day
•We are NOT a mega event
 

Additional COVID-19 Safety Measures:

•All attendees will be required to wear a mask (unless actively eating or drinking)
•Temperature checks upon entry
•All food vendors who are serving or making food are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status

•In addition to security & LHSD, we have hired WMI Global, Inc. who are overseeing safety/medical, risk management, and covid safety + mitigation
•If needed, we will be limiting ticket capacity. We will not issue refunds, but should capacity be met – we will allow guests to enter as guests exit

*The health and safety of our visitors, employees, vendors, and volunteers is our number #1 priority. All attendees are required to wear masks, social distance, and be mindful of best hygiene practices.

 

Our COVID rules and protocols will evolve to follow local, State, and CDC guidance. Currently, our policy is:

  • All attendees will be required to wear a mask (unless actively eating or drinking)
  • Avoid overcrowding small unventilated areas throughout the venue, especially near/in bathrooms
  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds and sanitize as often as possible
  • Avoid touching your mask, eyes, nose, and mouth with unclean hands
  • Use hand sanitizer as often as appropriate
  • Please practice social distancing
  • Stay home and away from others if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

– Cough
– Fever or Chills
Runny Nose
Shortness of Breath
Difficulties Breathing
Dizziness
Fatigue
Muscle or Body Aches
Headache
Sore Throat
Nausea or Vomiting
Diarrhea
Loss of Taste or Smell

By purchasing a ticket you agree that prior to entry, you will not enter the venue if you have exhibited any of the above symptoms within 72 hours, have knowingly been exposed to COVID-19, or have received a positive COVID-19 test within the last 14 days. By purchasing a ticket and entering this event, you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and or death. It is the sole responsibility of the ticket purchaser, parent/guardian of minors, and you understand the potential risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at this event/venue may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself or others, including, but not limited to, BGCM staff, vendors, volunteers, guests, and participants.

Please Keep In Mind:

  • Event admission tickets will NOT be sold on site. Carnival tickets sold SEPARATELY.
  • No commercial photography is allowed without a credential. Only iPhone/Android cameras are permitted. Camcorders or any other audio/visual equipment is prohibited. Specifically, the following equipment is not permitted: telephoto or zoom lenses of any kind, interchangeable lenses of any kind, monopods, or tripods or flash equipment of any kind. The Event will not house equipment, do not bring on site if you have not been appointed an Event Media Credential.
  • Malibu Chili Cook-Off media officials must clear all wireless equipment.
  • Event terrain is poor for strollers.
  • 24/7 video surveillance on-site.
  • Guests who purchase an event admission ticket and do not attend the event forfeit their place as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event.
  • There are strictly no cancellations or refunds, and tickets are not transferable. Should the Event be cancelled by the Event, all ticket holders will receive a refund.

Event admission tickets are available online only. Check back for the official launch date!

Q: Can I pre-purchase carnival ride tickets?

Carnival tickets are sold separately from event admission. Yes, you can pre-purchase, however, they are not yet available for 2022. Please check back!

Q: Is BGCM Chili Cook-off 2022 for all ages?

Yes, all ages are welcome! Children 5 years old and under are free with a ticketed adult.

Q: Are there ins and outs?

There are NO ins and outs.

Q: Can I bring an empty water bottle?

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Malibu Chili Cook-Off Staff is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged goods.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry at any time.
  • All bags and persons entering the Malibu Chili Cook Off venue is subject to search. Bags larger than 17”x13”x8.5”, i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the venue.
  • Guests may not bring any food or beverages into the venue. Factory sealed non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. Food or beverages deemed necessary due to a special dietary need, religious requirement or medical condition may be approved in advance by the Guest Services Department. Guests must dispose of unauthorized items prior to entrance into the venue or return items to their vehicles. Guest Services will not check-in any food or beverage items.
  • Large posters and banners must be inspected by security before being allowed into the venue. The Malibu Chili Cook-off reserves the right to refuse admission of signage. Sticks or poles to hold flags/banners are not permitted.
  • Guests must wear shirts and shoes. No bare feet allowed.
